BeMe uses cookies for a limited set of purposes. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking across other websites, or profiling.

Every cookie we set serves one of the following purposes:

• Authentication and security: keeping you logged in, verifying that requests come from you, and protecting your account from unauthorized access.
• Session management: maintaining your session state as you navigate through the platform.
• Preferences: remembering your display preferences, such as theme selection.
• Analytics: understanding how people use BeMe, through Google Analytics (see section 4).

We do not deploy marketing cookies or social media tracking cookies on our platform.

3.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled because the service would not operate without them.

3.2 Session Cookies

These cookies maintain your state as you move between pages and features. They expire when you close your browser.

3.3 Hosting Platform Cookies

BeMe is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may set the following cookie for infrastructure purposes:

BeMe uses Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand how people use our website and dashboard. It measures the pages you visit, how you arrived at BeMe, and a few key actions: signing up, logging in, starting and finishing setup, and buying a plan. Google Analytics also records general details about your device and browser, such as browser type, screen size, and approximate location.

We use this as anonymized, aggregated usage data, with no personal identifiers, to improve BeMe. Files and data from a connected Google Drive or Dropbox are never sent to Google Analytics. Analytics data is kept for 24 months and anonymized after 12 months.

How to opt out

• Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on for your browser: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings (see section 8). BeMe keeps working without analytics cookies.

To be clear about what is not present on our platform:

• We do not use Facebook Pixel or any third-party analytics or tracking service other than Google Analytics.
• We do not use advertising cookies for interest-based advertising or remarketing.
• We do not use social media sharing cookies that track your activity across other websites.
• We do not embed third-party content that would set additional tracking cookies.

If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain your consent before deploying those cookies.

• Session cookies expire when you close your browser or after a period of inactivity. They are not stored on your device permanently.
• Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period and are used to remember settings like your theme preference or to allow your authenticated session to be extended.

The third-party cookies set on BeMe come from these service providers:

• Supabase (supabase.com): provides our authentication, database, and storage infrastructure. The cookies Supabase sets are essential to identifying you as an authenticated user and maintaining your session.
• Vercel (vercel.com): provides our hosting infrastructure. The cookies Vercel sets are used for request routing and delivery.
• Google Analytics (google.com): measures how BeMe is used, as described in section 4. You can opt out at any time.

These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with our instructions and applicable data protection laws.

8.1 Browser Controls

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically view stored cookies, delete all or specific cookies, block cookies, and set per-site preferences.

Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging into BeMe or using authenticated features.

• Safari: Preferences, then Privacy, then Cookies and website data
• Firefox: Options, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data
• Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions

8.2 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

BeMe honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: Google Analytics does not load when your browser sends either signal.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we introduce any new categories of cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will notify you and, where required by law, obtain your consent.
